OASIS-CANADA is an International Polar Year (IPY) program sponsored by the Government of Canada, consisting of several components, with the primary aim of studying the details of marine boundary layer ozone and mercury depletion events over the Arctic Ocean, after polar sunrise.

In particular, the successful candidate is expected to participate in:
- The deployment of a small, highly automated, instrument package mounted on a specially constructed Arctic sled (the "Out Over The Ice" (OOTI)-sled) to study the flux of ozone and mercury on the surface of the frozen ocean near Barrow, Alaska
- The development and deployment of chemical buoys (O-buoys) at locations yet to be determined (possibly: Beaufort Sea, Hudson Bay, and North Pole)
- The analysis of results from these and other OASIS-CANADA projects leading to publications and presentations at scientific conferences.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in atmospheric sciences or related fields with an interest in Arctic science, be skilled in the operation and modification of analytical instrumentation, and be willing
to participate in field campaigns at remote locations.

Interested candidates are invited to send their CV and two letters of recommendation to:
