Research student positions, funded by the Ministry of Education in Finland, are intended for graduate students with a higher university degree who will conduct their doctoral degree at a Finnish university. The research themes of the school are ’Social and Environmental Impacts of Modernization and Global Change in the Arctic’ and ‘Resource, Political and Environmental Economics in Promoting the Sustainable Social Development in the Barents Region’. Each of these themes has specific focus areas.

The Arctic Graduate School (ARKTIS), coordinated by the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland, Finland, opens a call for six full-time research student positions for different periods between 1.1.2010 and 31.12.2013.
