For those smart at heart and wild by nature – apply to study at the University of Lapland and combine one of the best educational systems in the world with adventures unique to the North. Explore your future in the fields of education, law, art, design and social sciences, or immerse yourself in Arctic studies, right on location.

The Arctic Art and Design master’s programme focuses on the intersection of art and design, using the strengths of both disciplines with specialization in Applied Visual Arts or Service Design. The degree is characterized by a human-centred approach to problem solving. Students are required to investigate and apply methods including user-centred techniques of co-design to the participatory approach used in socially-engaged visual arts. The programme includes live, active projects that address issues related to the Arctic and the circumpolar north. The project studies create a challenging environment for students in which to develop creative and innovative solutions.

Media Education aims at developing profound media competences, literacy and multiliteracies. The three themes of the program – Media in Teaching and Learning; Media in Society; and Media and Psychosocial Well-Being – provide students with understanding and skills in different areas where media education plays a significant role. Students will learn to search, read, and interpret current media education research.

Tourism, Culture and International Management (TourCIM) has been created to respond to the needs of cultural and tourism industries. Graduates of the program gain knowledge and education in international business and international management as well as cultural experience and heritage, tourism being seen as a modern link between them.
