The theme of the conference in 2018 is Growth in the Arctic, with topics such as High North scenarios, maritime waste and the regional dimension of development. Business leaders and entrepreneurs will share their thoughts and know-how on how the enormous business potential in the Arctic can be utilized. For the third consecutive year, we present the High North Hero Award to a person or an organization that has contributed to highlighting the importance of the High North. We invite everyone to nominate candidates.
We would also like to invite you to take part in our research workshop on Tuesday April 17, connecting scholars across academic fields to discuss various aspects of growth in the Arctic. We invite you to submit an abstract for a paper concerned with the topic of the workshop by January 15.
The associated Master and PhD courses will be organized on April 16-20, 2018, and they gather more than 120 graduate students from Norway, Russia, China, and many other countries. We invite students from all over the world who are interested in different perspectives on governance and business in the High North, challenges and opportunities of exploration and utilization of the resources, social, economic and political agenda in the Arctic, as well as on an international dialogue between interested parties concerned with High North. The focus is on developing knowledge about opportunities for value creation in the High North and basic issues of High North region development based on
geopolitical, economic, regulatory and stakeholders oriented approaches from national and global perspectives.
Registration deadline for the Master/PhD course is January 30, 2018.
