This session will be organized by the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Safety and Security. The network was established at the UArctic Congress, St. Petersburg in September 2016. The network’s overall goal is to provide knowledge and education that may mitigate the risk of accidents and major threats to life, environment values and communities.
In this session, we will contribute to emergency management competence and decision-support technology in order to increase emergency response capacities. The second goal is to contribute to international collaboration among the Arctic countries within safety and security management and connectivity. Third, we will look into innovative training and exercise infrastructure such as simulators and labs to facilitate knowledge dissemination among students and professionals.
