The aim of climate change education in the large scale is to help to develop the climate friendly societies. This challenging task needs the solution-orientated pedagogy, which helps the learners to understand the principles of climate change and mitigation and adaptation for it. In climate change education is important to discuss about the values behind consumption, critically look through climate change mitigation and create hope for climate through successful climate projects.
This study presents the sub-project of broader design research, which examined how the tasks drawn up by the primary student teachers affect five and six graders’ ideas for their learning about climate change and their feelings towards climate change.
This study is qualitative research. The data is collected in spring 2018 from 10 elementary school classes and it is analyzed by using content analysis. Because of unfinished data collection, we do not have yet he preliminary results but they will be available due to Uarctic Conference.
