Yukon University & the YukonU Research Centre

Yukon University is Canada’s first university north of 60, and conducts applied research aligned with northern priorities. The YukonU Research Centre houses many of YukonU’s researchers, and provides experiential learning to students through hands-on research opportunities.

At YukonU and the YukonU Research Centre, we take pride in investigating distinctly northern questions while drawing on western science and Indigenous knowledge to create and share  innovative responses to our changing northern home.

The YukonU Research Centre's thematic areas include climate change adaptation, hydrology, permafrost and geoscience, northern energy innovation, northern mine remediation, health, Indigenous knowledge and biodiversity monitoring.

Yukon Research Centre works in partnership with government, industry, entrepreneurs, First Nations, and communities to improve the lives of Northerners.
