The Seminar was organised by the Pohjola- Norden Association with help from the Secretariat for Nordic Cooperation of Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The Seminar was a part of the programme for the Finnish Presidency in the Nordic Council of Ministers 2007. The two-day event featured a variety lectures, panel discussions, and working groups which dealt with the problems associated with Nordic mobility. The Seminar was well attended, with approximately 20 lecturers and panelists contributing.
Topics of debate included: the validity of occupational certificates between countries, border obstacles related to social security, and the importance of access to information. Working groups had the opportunity to discuss and present their thoughts on how to improve the current system, including improved access to information relating to cross-border mobility and the advancement of a joint Nordic curriculum.
Organisers were very pleased with the results of the Seminar and similar meetings will be arranged in the future.
