Under the broad theme of Security, ISSK '07 will take place at Petrozavodsk State University from May 14 to 20 2007.
Through daily background lectures, open discussions, interactive seminars and group work, security will be discussed in a comprehensive way by experts coming from Russia and the Nordic countries. Among the titles for the lectures, and as sub-themes of ISSK '07, will be Traditional Security, Ecological Security, Human Security, Energy Security, Risk and Global Threats, and Security in North-West Russia and the Eurasian North.
ISSK '07 is organized jointly by Petrozavodsk State University, the Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki, the University of Tampere and the University of Lapland.
Since 2003, the ISSK has served as a bridge or meeting-point for both Russian/Kalerian university students and Finnish and other non-Russian students who study or are interested in Russian Studies, European Studies and Northern Studies.
Interested students must pre-register by proving the following information: name, address, discipline and details regarding studies taken or main interests in the area of security. The deadline for pre-registration is April 2, 2007.
