UArctic Council Ready for Annual Meeting

The 11th annual UArctic Council meeting is drawing near. The 2008 meeting will take place at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, where over 110 Council Representatives, UArctic Program Officers, Students and Staff will congregate from June 2-5 for a busy week of meetings, presentations and celebrations!
The theme of this year's meeting is 'Currents of Change Advancing Polar Regions Information and Knowledge Transfer' and will feature a number of discussions on: the progress and future of UArctic featured in proposals of a New Strategic Plan and Governance Structure; the development of six new Thematic Networks; and the introduction and approval of new members. There will also be many program side meetings as well as breakout sessions on various themes relevant to further developments in UArctic.
