Canada has contributed $156 million into research activities focused on its Northern regions. Information and traditional knowledge that has been obtained through research will be used to create dialogue that could help create more sustainable actions. Sustainable actions that could benefit Canadians and its Northern population and also other participants who have took part in IPY. Other countries that have funneled monies and resources into the IPY also have obtained information that could be used to benefit its inhabitants and also the world as a whole. A dialogue between researchers and their findings could help to create actions that are sustainable for future generations.
