The Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University (CBU) is formed by ten universities, four in Finland [i.e. University of Helsinki; University of Eastern Finland; Lappeenranta University of Technology; University of Tampere] and six in Russia [St. Petersburg State University; Petersburg State Polytechnical University; Petrozavodsk State University; St. Petersburg State Forest Technical University; Moscow State Forest University; and the European University at St. Petersburg]. The ten CBU universities are jointly offering Master’s Degree Programmes in five fields of study: Business and Administration; Forestry and Environmental Engineering; Information and Communications Technology; International Relations; and Public Health.
The Barents Cross Border University (BCBU) is a cooperative network of universities in Northern Finland and Northwest Russia. Consisting of two universities in Finland [University of Oulu and the University of Lapland] and seven in Russia [Karelian State Pedagogical Academy; Murmansk Humanities Institute; Murmansk State Humanities University; Murmansk State Technical University; Northern (Arctic) Federal University; Northern State Medical University; and Petrozavodsk State University], this network of select partners offer four different joint-degree programmes in the study fields of Comparative social work; Environmental Engineering; Information systems; and Circumpolar Health and Well-being.
