The research programme is designed to reinforce Finland’s status as an internationally leading expert in Arctic issues. The programme has four themes:
•Good-quality life in the north
•Economic activity and infrastructure in Arctic circumstances
•The northern climate and environment
•Cross-border Arctic policy

The research programme will facilitate closer collaboration between national actors in the field. It will also provide excellent opportunities for international research collaboration.
The Arctic Research Programme has a two-stage call.
The deadline for letters of intent is 29 April 2014 at 16:15.

The aim of the Arctic Research Programme is to further strengthen high-quality, transdisciplinary and problem-based Arctic research in Finland in the long term. Another aim is to produce new research knowledge and actively disseminate it to policy-makers and stakeholders and for public discussion.
