As the world’s focus shifts towards the Arctic, issues such as adaptation to climate change, extraction of and dependency on the Arctic’s natural resources, indigenous rights, and Arctic security are gaining global significance. The UArctic session “Arctic spotlight: innovative models for collaborative education and research” will highlight the Arctic’s role in this and how northern institutions tackle the issues through collaboration and research within the UArctic network.
Speakers of the UArctic session are Lars Kullerud, UArctic President, and Donna Anger, Director of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Office of International Programs and Initiatives. UArctic Vice-President Organization Outi Snellman will chair the session.
The last time UArctic organized a session at EAIE was in Tampere, Finland in 2001.
We warmly invite you to come and listen to the only Arctic-focused session of the conference, and meet UArctic staff and representatives from member institutions at the stand #123!
