The stand was busy throughout the conference with meetings and visitors. Our partners (Northern (Arctic) Federal University, University of Lapland, Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Centre of Arctic Technology ARTEK from DTU, University of Nordland, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, University of Saskatchewan, University of Eastern Finland, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Memorial University of Newfoundland) used the UArctic stand as a base of operations for partner meetings and to promote their international activities.
Once again the stand was designed and implemented in collaboration with design students from the University of Lapland. Many visitors comment on the unique approach, and cozy nature of our exhibition presence. The Meet UArctic event at our stand on Thursday drew crowds of UArctic members and partners, who enjoyed a wide variety of tastes of the North.
Friday's UArctic-organized session 'Arctic Spotlight: Innovative models for collaborative education and research' was well-attended, with Vice-President Organization Outi Snellman chairing and presentations on current trends in the Arctic and northern higher education by Information Manager Scott Forrest (substituting for UArctic President Lars Kullerud), and Donna Anger giving the member perspective from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
In addition to the stand and session, many UArctic activities took advantage of the opportunity to meet together at EAIE in Prague, with several side meetings and planning discussions including GoNorth, north2north, and north2north+.
See you all again next year in Glasgow!
