The scholarships were granted during the OSCE (Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe) Parliamentary Assembly held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
In a session organized by International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry, Norwegian parliamentarians met with Dukha / Tsataan youth that have participated in Nomadic Herders project. The scholarships were delivered to the youth by Ola Elvestuen, the representative of the Venstre party in the Norwegian Storting (parliament).
Young reindeer herders got the scholarships to work with Traditional Knowledge in their culture related to protected areas, reindeer husbandry and conservation of biodiversity in times of climate change.
