Project participants represented faculty staff and students from four partner universities: Harstad University College (Norway), Syktyvkar State University, International Institute of Business - Education (Murmansk) and State Polar Academy (now merged with Russian State Hydrometeorological University).
The project funded by the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) focused on development of a training course in management of small and medium enterprises in the northern regions. It also included internship exchanges between Russian and Norwegian institutions.
Students got theoretical and practical information about business development in the North, they studied different aspects of small businesses management, searched for problems’ solutions of real companies and organizations participating in the project.
In addition to its educational activities project pursued one more important goal – development of faculty and student mobility, which serves as a efficient basis for formation of intercultural communication skills and competence building of each modern professional.
The final project event took place in the State Polar Academy in Saint-Petersburg, where students got Harstad University College certificates.
