The schedule for the local program includes three days of lectures on local and Arctic issues by Korean and international experts, and three days of study visits to Korean public organizations, institutes, research centres, government departments and private industry.

The local Korean organizers will cover all travel, accommodation, living, and local transportation expenses for students during the study program.

UArctic members are called upon to nominate one student to participate in this program. Please submit a CV and motivation letter for each nominated student to secretariat@uarctic.org  by April 30, 2015.
The final decision on the participants will be made by the UArctic and Korea Maritime Institute in May.

The following eligibility criteria apply:

10 undergraduate/graduate students from UArctic higher education members are selected for the program. The program is particularly targeted towards institutions with an indigenous profile, as well as students with an indigenous background. The pilot program is open to students of all academic backgrounds.

-The student should be registered at a UArctic higher education member institution for degree studies

-The student should have finished at least the second year of study

-The student is motivated to contribute to enhanced understanding of the Arctic and Korean regions

-The student must have sufficient knowledge of English, both oral and written, for academic studies.
