In order to reach these goals, the Research Liaison activity started in the beginning of 2015 at the premises of UArctic Thematic Networks office in Thule Institute, University of Oulu, Finland. The activity is financed by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
The key services of the Research Liaison are to integrate the Thematic Networks and Institutes with UArctic members to create synergies in research and education and to help them in identifying potential funding sources. In addition, the Research Liaison facilitates networking and collaboration within and between TNs and UArctic Institutes and with stakeholders, coordinates and supports the preparation of funding applications, and represent UArctic Research Area in national and international fora. Promotion of the UArctic Research Area and the dissemination of the results achieved via various forms of outreach are also within the focus of the Research Liaison.
UArctic's Research Area -including the Research Liaison activity- is overseen by Vice-President Research Kari Laine, and managed by the Director of Thematic Networks Kirsi Latola. Research Coordinator Hannele Savela and Project Planner Outi Moilanen joined the team in the beginning of 2015. Please do not hesitate to contact us in any matters concerning UArctic’s research, funding or cooperation activities. Let’s boost Arctic research together!
