"Admiral Vladimirskii" is equipped with special laboratories that allow carrying out comprehensive research which will help to predict the weather conditions in the Arctic. Another task of the expedition was the collecting of information for nautical charts, guides and manuals for navigation.
During the expedition specialists gained unique hydrographic and hydrological data on previously unexplored areas. They recognized glaciers collapse and retreat of four to five kilometers inland. The height of glaciers was previously up to 100 m. In the set points on the coast, researchers studied civil and military infrastructure. Expedition participants surveyed "white spots" on the island of Severnaya Zemlya and in the central part of the Laptev Sea as well as the number of false or dubious depths shown on navigation charts.
