During three weeks of June 2015, the International Bachelor Permafrost Summer Field School gathered altogether 19 students from 11 different countries to the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), Norway. During the field course, participants focussed on using the Svalbard landscape for studying different landforms and field techniques related to permafrost.
The field school was a part of the activities of the Thematic Network on Permafrost, funded by the Norwegian UArctic funding. From 2016 onwards, the University Centre of Svalbard will take over the responsibility to continue the field school as a true legacy of the Thematic Network on Permafrost Norwegian activities.
