I was to the Faroe Islands in the period of 26-28 April 2015 in connection with an Academic Board Meeting for the West-Nordic Studies: a new Nordic Master Programme between 5 Universities in the NORA-region (University of Iceland, University of Akureyri, University of Nordland, University of Faroe Islands and University of Greenland). At the same time I participated in the Green Growth Dialogue: a workshop around climate change and green growth in the Arctic.
The purpose was to meet colleagues from all West-Nordic Universities and at the same time build up a new network for the Green Growth Dialogue with some colleagues also from Canada. The issue was to discuss common problems and challenges that the Arctic are facing, but also looking for opportunities for further collaboration for future research projects and possible applications.
The Green Growth Dialogue has continued here in August 2015 in Reykjavik and the next workshop will be held in Nuuk during 2016. We hope that it will be possible for some colleagues to use North2North mobility funding also in the future. It gives a great opportunity to cover flights and accommodation for researchers and also students.
