The Symposium is expected to gather a large number of Chinese and Nordic scholars, policymakers and other stakeholders. Also an official delegation from China will attend the event and the business roundtable to be organized during the Symposium.

Arctic tourism will be a major theme for discussions at the business roundtable and it is also one of the sessions of the scientific symposiums. Other sessions discuss Arctic sustainability, Globalization and the Arctic, and China, Nordic countries and the Arctic.

The China-Nordic Arctic Cooperation Symposium is the annual meeting of the China-Nordic Arctic Research Center (CNARC), a network of eleven Member Institutes, five Chinese and six Nordic, which all have capacities to influence and coordinate Arctic research.

This year's Symposium is hosted by the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland, which is the Finnish member institute in CNARC. The registration to the event has been opened on 22nd March: www.arcticcentre.org/china.
