The international project will be implemented in two directions: education and science. Within the first direction it is planned to develop joint MA and PhD programs. The main scientific goal is cooperation in the research of human linguistic ability using data form the Russian, Finnish and Norwegian languages by applying psycholingistic and linguistic methods. Russian, Finnish, and Norwegian are languages of different families. Triangular cooperation offers the prospects of testing linguistic hypotheses that nobody conducted before.
During the first project workshop "Experimental studies of language and speech" held at the Tomsk University scientists told about word recognition mechanisms and shared their experiences of studying social aspects of the text perception, particularly gender. Further steps are joint research, visits to Norway and Finland, presentation and discussion of project results.
The project is financed by the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (SIU).
