Firouz Gaini from the University of the Faroe Islands visited Canada with north2north mobility funding.

The goal of the workshops is to review and identify the Sámi and Indigenous pedagogy research needs at northern teacher education contexts and to support new research areas’ development.

Following the Arctic Circle Assembly in in early October, students at the Univeristy Centre of the Westfjords shared their summaries and impressions of the conference.  

The University Centre of the Westfjords hosted a Marine Litter Workshop in early September. The workshop was a part of the Arctic Marine Litter Project.

The eighth Relate North Symposium will be held from November 11 to 16, 2019 in Syktyvkar, Komi, Russia and is organized by the Syktyvkar State University and the University of Lapland.

The University Centre of the Westfjords (UW) has received funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers Ocean Working Group for a project entitled “Plastics in commercial fish stocks of Norway, Iceland and Faroe Islands.”

The event is organised by the UArctic Thematic Network on Teacher Education and the UNESCO/UNITWIN Network on Teacher Education and will be held at the FERA Conference in Joensuu, Finland, November 21, 2019.

By increasing their support for UArctic's north2north mobility program, Norway aims to get the whole country more engaged in find solutions for northern challenges, and contribute to growing expertise in Norway as well as in other Arctic countries through knowledge exchange.
