The film – Sherpas Amidst the Mist – is the product of the project “Interdisciplinary curricula on Indigenous and Tribal Studies comparing the Arctic and India,” produced in partnership with the UArctic Chair in Arctic Legal Research and Education and the UArctic Law Thematic Network.

The Alfred Wegener Institute and the MOSAiC research expedition were awarded the Arctic Circle Prize. With the prize, the international organization Arctic Circle recognizes extraordinary contributions to securing a sustainable and prosperous future in the Arctic. Warm congratulations!

Finn Danielsen, lead of the UArctic Thematic Network on Collaborative Resource Management, from the Nordic Foundation for Development and Ecology (NORDECO) and UNEP-WCMC Chief Scientist Prof Neil Burgess discuss the findings of their comprehensive new study into the power of community monitoring.

UArctic seeks an Events Coordinator Intern, starting from January 2, 2023, until June 30, 2023.The Events Coordinator Intern is a team member of the UArctic International Secretariat, the main coordination and communication point of the UArctic network.

Particular emphasis is placed on research in the fields of circular economy, sustainable manufacturing, recycling/material recovery, food systems/organic waste, environmental/sustainability policy, social and behavioral aspects of sustainability, and applications of AI and machine learning in sustainability science.

This graduate seminar is part of the activities of the UArctic Thematic Network on Local-Scale Planning, Climate Change and Resilience, and will be held online (via Zoom) on November 28 at 8:00am to 10:30am (MST).
