UArctic and our local hosts University of New Hampshire, University of Maine, University of New England, University of Southern Maine, and Dartmouth College warmly welcome all UArctic member representatives to our annual meeting of members, the UArctic Assembly.
The Assembly meeting program is now fully published in the Assembly website. In addition to the Assembly business section, program includes a variety of social events, including a traditional Maine Lobster Bake at the University of New England’s seaside campus in Biddeford, a two-day pre-conference event in Portsmouth with a tour of historic Strawbery Banke, and evening receptions at the New England Ocean Cluster and the Portland Museum of Art.
Senator Angus King of Maine, Co-Chair of the US Senate Arctic Caucus, will chair a special high-level discussion session “The New Future of the Arctic” on June 3. Indigenous youth from New England and the Arctic will meet in a first-of-its-kind gathering during the Assembly, and they will share their experiences with Assembly participants in a special session. The New England Arctic Network Research symposium will highlight the work of emerging researchers through a panel discussion and will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Trevor Bell of Memorial University of Newfoundland, and SmartICE.
The meeting agenda with has been distributed with all member representatives via email, and shared on the Assembly Agenda page. The meeting participants are recommended to get to know the materials before the meeting.
