The linkages considered include local comprehensive plans, all hazard plans, climate action plans as well as subdivision and zoning ordinances. John will discuss local government planning powers and their implementation methods, and importantly how these powers and methods are being used to address the challenges of climate change. Focusing on local governments in Alaska, USA, John will also describe some of the attributes associated with local government “willingness” to address climate change.
