Called Arctic Communities: Oceans, the project hones in on the community of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, and engages Inuit youth in order to understand, from their perspective, how climate change impacts their daily lives.
This program draws on students’ expertise from the Climate Adaptation and Resilience Lab (University of Alberta) and the broader membership of the UArctic Thematic Network on Local-scale Planning, Climate Change and Resilience, led by Jeff Birchall.
Hosted and distributed by Live It Earth to K-12 students across Canada, next steps include developing a long-term project involving more communities from across the Arctic, for a broader global audience.
