Content
During the field course, the students will explore, study and develop Northern tourism from the perspective of seasonality. The aim is to reflect critically on how Arctic tourism is changing and how issues of seasonality – such as employment issues related to seasonality of work in Nordic countries and in Arctic regions, decent work and residence conditions of seasonal workers and fragility of the pure nature during different seasons – are enacted in different regions in the North. The course will consist of a pre-work related to sketching the issues of seasonality in student’s own region, work done during the field course workshops, and an individual development plan, which will be based on the work conducted in workshops.
