The conference aims at discussing and framing the problem of environmental knowledge and policy transfer from the EU to non-EU Europe and Central Asia in biophysical, management, research, cultural and policy contexts.
Session and paper proposals will be accepted till January 25, 2019. Studies from other geographical locations are welcome as well as long as they provide relevant insights. The key thematic areas (within the scope of the conference) are:
- Biodiversity, water management and governance
- Energy security, management and governance
- Urban planning and quality of urban environments
- Cooperation on environmental issues in the Baltic region and the Arctic
- Environmental monitoring and research networks, assessments & reports
The organisers are planning for policy-relevant debates with outcomes that will help to understand the current issues with environmental knowledge/policy/technology transfer, suggest solutions and support transitions towards regional and global sustainability.
The city of Minsk where the conference will be held is well connected to the world: a 30-day visa waiver was introduced for the citizens of 80 countries, coming to Belarus, including the EU countries, USA, and Canada.
