The project is divided into phases:
Phase I Knowledge Keepers Forum
Knowledge exchange activities began with the Knowledge Keepers Forum held in Nuuk, Greenland, November 30 & December 1, 2017. Participants included educators in the relevant health science from UiT, U of S and Ilisimatusarfik, community-based health practitioners and researchers experienced in researching health care and health traditions in Greenland, knowledge keepers and alumni.
Phase II Planning Meeting for International Innovative Learning Institute in Circumpolar Health IILICH
Phase II of the project brought together the planning team members from the three institutions: Ilisimatusarfik, UiT, and U of S. in August 2018. The goal was to set the direction for the IILICH by incorporating lessons learned from the Knowledge Keepers Forum and the continuing work of the NNEN. In collaboration with Ilisimatusarfik faculty, the theme of the 2019 IILICH was created as well as determining the number of student participants, cultural activities representative of the Greenlandic traditions for health and well-being and idea generation for program in support of the IILICH outcomes for student engagement.
