APECS Russia and the UK Polar Network invite Early Career Scientists from UK and Russia to apply to the interdisciplinary field course in the Russian Arctic titled “Arctic Interdisciplinary Studies – ARCTIS”. The field course will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk (Yugra) Autonomous Region, Russia on February 17-23, 2020.


Ten Arctic members and one non-Arctic member were voted in by the Council of UArctic in their annual meeting in Stockholm, Sweden in September 2019. Six of the new member institutions are based in the United States, and the network also welcomed its first member from India. The current total of UArctic members is 212.

The Program offers an opportunity for Finnish institutions and organizations to host a leading U.S. academic or established professional to work on diverse, 2-6 week collaborative projects. The international Arctic Spirit Conference will take place on November 12th-13th in Rovaniemi, Finland. The theme of this year’s conference is climate change and the future generations. The goal of the event is to enhance dialogue between researchers, youth and decision-makers.
