The Rectors Meeting will engage the leadership of the UArctic’s higher education institution members in a roundtable discussion on the congress themes, and how the universities can contribute and collaborate to these themes. The meeting will take place at the brand new Wood Hotel Bodø which offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains, fjords and the Lofoten Islands.
The Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 is a joint congress combining the UArctic Congress and Assembly, the conference of IASSA (International Arctic Social Sciences Association), and the High North Dialogue. The congress includes an extensive science program featuring keynotes, plenary panels, and parallel session on the themes of sustainable development, impacts of climate change, and efforts to enhance the well-being of people living in the region. These themes follow Norway’s Arctic Council chairmanship priorities. Looking to the future, Arctic Youth and Arctic Indigenous peoples, cross-cutting priorities of the Norwegian chairmanship, will also be overarching themes at Arctic Congress Bodø 2024.
