Due to the changed world situation, it is increasingly important to be involved as part of Western development and the cooperation it brings. The province of Lapland has applied for membership in the Baltic Sea Commission in early 2022, which will be reflected in versatile Nordic and European cooperation. Utilizing the natural resource potential of the North in a green growth strategy is one of the critical issues of the future, and assessing the current situation requires a holistic view. Through Lapland's various stakeholder groups and research, the seminar explores what the green transition and economic development mean, specifically from the perspectives of justice and sustainability. The University of Lapland's Horizon-funded projects JUSTNORTH, CHARTER, and ArcticHubs will present their preliminary results at the event. Associate Professor Corine Wood-Donnelly will give the keynote speech from Nord University in Norway.

The event is open to everyone! Welcome!
