The Panel session entitled: "The Cryosphere: Legitimizing the links between the Arctic and the Third Pole" has attracted four distinguished speakers from Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Taiwan. The speakers discussed emerging issues of concern in relation to the Arctic and the Third Pole, including challenges of international law in addressing common concerns, geopolitics, security and national interests, techno-scientific intervention to preserve the cryosphere, and transboundary pollution, etc.
The collaborative partners of the Panel include the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law of the Arctic Centre, the UArctic Law Thematic Network, the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic in Asia and Asia in the Arctic, the National Chengchi University of Taiwan and the UiT-the Arctic University of Norway.
